Breaking the Silence

23 Feb

Well, well, well.  It feels like it’s been awhile.  (Which is probably because it’s been awhile.)

I was in Salt Lake City for work last week, and the days were so jam packed that I barely thought about sitting down to write something worthwhile here.

I’m still not entirely sure I have anything worthwhile to say, but I do have some crappy phone pictures to share.  Lucky you!  For those who don’t like scrolling, here’s the important details:

  • Cafe Rio is AMAZING and I’m thankful to this girl for enlightening me to its existence.  I may or may not have eaten there multiple times over the past week.  Embarrassing, party of one, right here.
  • I ran. Very, very, very early in the morning.
  • I ran. Very, very, very slowly (what’s up, altitude?  I think we could be friends.  Eventually.  But right now?  You’re making my lungs think about quitting life.)
It's too early to breathe, much less run ...

It was a decent week, but I’m definitely happy to be home.  Fireplace + home cooked meals + playing with my puppy + half marathon tomorrow morning = perfection.

You woke up at 3:30 to run? Man, that’s dedication. I love the idea of running while traveling, but I have the hardest time actually sticking with it.

Yeah, I agree completely, it can definitely be a struggle. Traveling west is easier for me because I try to stay on east coast time. So, a 3:30 alarm looks real scary but only “feels” like 5:30, which isn’t too awful. Or at least, that’s what I tell myself 😀
